The City of Center Line proposes to work with the Center Line Public School District to improve its recreation resources by revising its partnership for the operation of the Center Line football Field. Under the proposed plan, the city would maintain ownership of the facility while the district would take control of the facility's operation and accept full responsibility for the field's maintenance. This agreement will allow the district to maintain the field in the manner it wishes and allow the city to redirect resources previously used to maintain the field to other uses.
A possible barrier to this proposal is the inability of the district to maintain the field due to voters possibly rejecting the district's 2013 millage renewal.
This plan was put into place in September, 2013 when CLPSD took over responsibility for maintaining the football field at Memorial Park. This has resulted in substantial maintenance cost savings for the City of Center Line.
