The Genesee Intermediate School District, Genesee County and the City of Flint have joined forces with the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce Shared Service Center to initiate the Genesee Regional Human Resources (HR) Collaborative.
The Collaborative's mission is to: Establish and sustain a flexible, cost effective shared human resources (HR) recruitment, hiring and management system that optimizes the use of technology, standardizes best practices, and lowers the risk for governmental units throughout the Mid-Michigan region.
Funding was requested in December 2012 through the MI Department of Treasury C-GAP application for the inaugural project of the Genesee Regional HR Collaborative that will capitalize on the existing expertise and expansive network of the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD).
Currently GISD administers a web-based HR management system called AppliTrack that provides services to school district employers throughout the region. In an effort to streamline HR processes and gain efficiences in their selection and hiring processes, both the City of Flint and Genesee County have committed to partnering with GISD to develop HR system and employee recruitment system for municipalities throughout the region.
The City of Flint completed transition to the AppliTrack system in September 2013. No other governmental entity has joined at this time.
