Beginning in 1997 Meridian Township, the City of East Lansing, and Michigan State University combined technology systems for Police Records Management, Field based police reporting, and Police & Fire Computer Aided Dispatch. In 2005, the network was expanded to include Ingham County, City of Williamston, City of Mason, and Lansing Township. The scope of technology services was expanded to include other in-car police services such as Electronic Citations. At some point the State of Michigan joined the group to leverage in-car computer services. Finally in 2011, the City of Lansing joined to help facilitate technology improvements in support of consolidation of the two dispatch centers in Ingham County. These activities have continued through today.
