Description	Each entity within the Homer Fire Board jurisdiction contributes a portion of their funds, based on a percentage of runs, into the fire truck fund for the purpose of purchasing fire trucks and related equipment.This provides a systematic budgetary way of building up the fund which enables the Fire Board to purchase new equipment on a cash basis. This provides discounted pricing from the purveyor as well as saving money on financing charges. Update December 2013 All the entities have agreed to keep funding the truck fund for future purchases
