A feasibility study is underway and due to be completed in the first quarter of 2013. Following a review of the results, if there is a recommendation to proceed from both the City of Flint and the 9-1-1 Consortium, a timeline for implementation will be developed.

Also, in December 2012 a C-GAP application was submitted by the City of Flint and Genesee County 9-1-1 Consortium to expand the existing communications tower system to strengthen the Flint City radio service area.  This is another necessary step in a consolidation process. If awarded funding, tower construction is an 15 month process.
