Overview

This is the private student and teacher data.

The State of Michigan does not store rosters with the M-STEP data. For this reason, a MySQL table (ach_rosteredstudentfile) is used to store rosters for M-STEP use.

Many school districts, like Tawas Area Schools, have not been able to provide historic rosters for M-STEP educator evaluations. Many of the powerful data analytics in Munetrix are not available without a roster; like the Educator Evaluator. In some cases, we have been able to reconstruct historic rosters using NWEA Comprehensive data files that include a student/teacher roster.

In cases where NWEA data does not exist, Munetrix has reconstructed an M-STEP roster from M-STEP data. This quasi-roster does not include teacher names but it does create a teacher named on the rostered building and creates a class name based on the rostered content area. In doing this, a very dynamic method of calculating building-level educator evaluations is now available using the bottom-up tool.
