The Village of Newberry contracts with the Luce County Sheriff's Department to provide police coverage and ordinance enforcement. We pay $75,000 for this service vs. the $194,797 it would cost us to own and manage it internally.  Our savings is $119,797.  This agreement ended April 15, 2012.

The Village of Newberry has not initiated a new contracted Police service as of 2013. Any law enforcement issues are covered by the Luce County Sherrifs Department/ State Police, under taxes paid for by residents County taxes. Zoning/ Code Enforcement issues are covered by Property use Administrator.
